Our Alpaca- and Llama Farm
Bienvenida in the Bernese Overland!
Welcome! to Aeschi (near Spiez). We are located in the heart of the Swiss Alps above lake Thun, in an area that is similiar in weather and altitude to the Altiplano. We feel we have established a camelid paradise with our well-suited environment and long tradition of animal care and husbandry practices.
The Luginbühl-Lippl family has established a premiere Alpaca- and Llama Farm.
- The «Seewenegg» is a modern log home, but also built in the traditional architecture out off red spruce from our local mountain forests. This is the home of the Luginbühl family. The whole ground floor is used for animal care and housing.
Our Farm offers the largest variety and genetic diversity of alpacas and llamas in continental Europe. Our efforts and established breeding programs allow us to meet your needs and expectations!
During the summer our alpacas and llamas graze in the high alpine mountain pastures with their crias. In this invigorating climate with rich natural nutrition and precise genetic management, we have established herds of healthy, fine fleeced animals, competitive with the best llamas and alpacas found anywhere in the world!
Our animals are always immediately accessible at our farm or in nearby alpine pastures. We sort our herds by colour. Starting in the middle of fall all of our animals are assembled in Aeschi (1000m), near our farmhouse on a lower valley plateau favoured by the warm winter sun.
- A large number of Peruvian Alpacas are part of the breeding herd «Plantel of Switzerland», which are superior alpacas from the most reputed farms in Peru and Northern Chile. In the background is the mountain «Niesen». The alp «Ahorni» is located in a wonderful place on the right side of the mountain above the forest. you can reach this alp only with mountain equipment.
